Yesterday I picked up my new car. Eeeeek! I have never bought a brand new vehicle before. My first car was an old beater Nissan that my cousin gave me, when that died {I hydroplaned at 40 km/hr and hit a tree - the only accident I have ever been in - it wasn’t worth the $$ to fix the Nissan} I bought myself a used Toyota Camry. It has been a great car, and has weathered 7+ years with me and over 300,000 kms {I drive a lot!}. Recently a number of things have been going wrong, the most serious of which was the shifter cable breaking. Let me tell you - not a fun experience! I had always hoped to give the Camry away to my cousin’s kids, but it was not meant to be I guess. Anyways, Kevin and I have been car shopping pretty seriously for about 2 weeks. We settled on a Ford Escape - a crossover car/SUV. I am still getting used to all the gadgets {it talks to me!}, but aside from being nervous about the car payments, I am pretty happy with the decision. .
