A few random thoughts:
1)  I don’t normally wear brightly colored shoes (with the exception of my running shoes), so I wasn’t initially 100% sold on pairing pink shoes with a pink skirt.  I kept thinking that a beige shoe would have looked better.  I am still undecided.
2)  The dead tree in the background really annoys me…
3)  I have a small obsession with this top
4) I have been a bad dog mom this week.  The long hours are eating into my “dog time” (which I feel terrible about).  Fortunately my brother is AMAZING and has been playing/walking/running/etc with the dogs.  So grateful!

{Homemade} Green peplum top and my favorite sandals!

photo IMG_4054_zps5d0efdab.jpg

Top:  homemade {made with  drapery fabric that I found in a blow-out bin.  Unfortunately I didn’t take any closeups, but the fabric has a great texture to it.  I think I may add some darts to the front of the bodice to help reduce some of the bulkiness}  {similar BR option}
Pants:  Guess {old, probably 2008}
Sunglasses:  Armani Exchange
Bracelets:  Jacob white leather bangles, thrifted ‘gold’ bangles, Club Monaco wrap bracelet
Clutch:  Le Chateau
Shoes: Jean-Michel Cazabat ‘Ozara’ {also seen here in a somewhat similar look} {similar JMC shoe}

Shirt:  Maison Scotch, thrifted
Skirt:  c/o eShakti
Sunglasses:  Armani Exchange
Necklace:  Osolee ‘Marilyn’
Bangles:  Amrita Singh
Purse:  Vieta
Shoes:  Jessica Simpson {old!}

I jumped at the opportunity to receive an eShakti skirt after seeing a number other styles around the blogosphere (especially this scalloped style - seen on Sarah and Jen).  My favorite part was that I could completely customize this skirt.  eShakti’s motto is We Design.You Customize - and I was able to input my height, waist, thigh, and hip measurements, along with hip shape to ensure a proper fit.  In addition, I was able to choose the final length of the skirt (short, knee length, or tea length), and whether or not I wanted pockets.  For ordering a custom garment made from scratch, I was surprised how quickly it arrived (it was here in about 2 weeks!).  I am loving the nautical feel and can definitely see myself wearing it again and again.

Rivista di Moda is an online fashion destination aimed at bloggers (it is somewhat similar to Lookbook.nu).  Once a month they publish an online magazine featuring the top submissions of the month.  I was fortunate to be included in the April 2013 issue in a 6-page spread!  You can see the rest of the April publication here
